HKS Visual Identities
Brand Identity
Marketing
At Harvard Kennedy School, I’ve developed visual identities for various initiatives, centers, milestone campaigns (including anniversaries and commemorations), and digital products. Each identity included a clear naming/wordmark direction, a concise, accessible color palette, and minimal brand guidelines—so teams could apply the work consistently across web, social, print, and on-campus screens.

Product Identity
The HKS Hub is Harvard Kennedy School’s redesigned intranet—a single, streamlined entry point for news, tools, and services tailored to students, faculty, and staff. We developed supporting graphic elements to strengthen and clarify its visual identity.

Podcast Identity
The Office of Communications and Public Affairs revived the long-dormant podcast, Policycast, and needed a competitive identity refresh. The new host, Thoko Moyo, speaks with leading experts in public policy, media, and international affairs about their experiences confronting the world's most pressing general problems. The selected direction shows the school's formal crest with stripes simplified within overlapping conversation bubbles.

Newsletter Identity
Harvard Kennedy School sought to produce a bi-weekly digital newsletter with smart and reliable public policy insights. With the newsletter name workshopped and agreed upon by the office, the design team worked together on the visual identity and email marketing. Abiding by the school's brand guidelines, the newsletter identity direction is approachable, refreshing, and rousing.

Center Identity
Led early-stage brand exploration for the Bloomberg Center, producing naming paths, wordmark concepts, and usage principles. Presented as a finalist option to school leadership and Bloomberg, a different direction was selected.

Milestone Identities
Honored to craft identities for several HKS centers, including a milestone anniversary and the centennial of women’s suffrage. Each system included a concise color palette calibrated for accessibility, plus a minimal brand guide detailing lockups, clear-space and sizing rules, and basic application guidance for digital and print.
